INTERPRETING

Conference interpreter since 1983
German native speaker with native speaker competence in
    English
Member of the German "Bund deutscher Übersetzer"

To help you choose the most appropriate interpreting style for your event, please consider the different forms of interpreting.
  Simultaneous or Conference Interpreting
Suited to larger events like conferences or congresses. The interpreters (2 per language) sit in booths, listen to the original by headphones and speak their interpretation simultaneously into a microphone. Delegates have receivers and headsets.

  Ad Hoc Interpreting
Suited to meetings with relatively few delegates or participants such as round table meetings or commercial negotiations. The interpreter interprets the individual contributions when required.

  Consecutive Interpreting
As the name implies the interpreter listens to a speaker for some time, typically for up to a minute, takes notes and then repeats the content of the original.

I would be happy to discuss your interpreting requirements or provide conference solutions either by telephone or in person. I can also advise on the choice of conference equipment and/or equipment supplier for simultaneous interpreting. Please contact me by e-mail.
